There was plenty of concern from fellow celebrities and fans of Jamie Foxx about his health in recent months, especially given that such little news about exactly what he had suffered was being made public.
The American actor has now resurfaced and looks well, and he has spoken for the first time since his health problems, although he admits the difficulties he went through.
There was plenty of speculation that his injuries were as a result of an adverse effect to the COVID-19 vaccine, as so many celebrities and athletes have suffered, but while he did not clarify exactly what had happened to him, his appearance at least reassured fans that he is on the road to recovery.
"I went through something I thought I would never, ever go through," Foxx said in an Instagram video.
"I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear an update, but to be honest with you, I didn't want you to see me like that, man.
Foxx thanked his sister Deondra Dixon and daughter Corinne Foxx for the role they played in saving him.
"To them, to God, to a lot of great medical people, I'm able to leave you this video," Foxx said.
"I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way, and you all know they kept it airtight. They didn't let nothing out, they protected me, and that's what I hope that everyone could have in moments like these. But, I'm coming back, and I am able to work.
"I just want to say I love everybody, and I love all the love that I got," he said.
