Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt announced their separation in 2016 after a less than glamorous argument on a plane that saw alcohol spilled and a marriage broken.
Divorce proceedings have now been ongoing for some time, and according to one of Pitt's friends, Jolie does not want to settle any time soon.
"She is going to drag this divorce out until the twins (now 14) turn 18," a friend of Pitt's told NewsNation Now's Paula Froelich. "Four more years."
The pair share six children altogether, including Maddox, 21; Pax, 19; Zahara, 18; Shiloh, 17; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15.
It's claimed Pitt spent 14 million dollars on the separation, including an 8 million dollar loan to allow Jolie to assume ownership of a six-bedroom, 10 bathroom home at Los Feliz, California.
The wine battle
Jolie is said to have sold her share in wine business Miraval, which is half owned by Pitt, who claimed the move was illegal given one would need to give permission for the other to sell.
"At the same time Angelina was talking to [Shefler] about Miraval she was also negotiating in bad faith with Brad to sell him her share in the winery," a friend told told Froelich.
"It's in the original purchase agreement that if either want to sell they have to give each other the first right of refusal. She got angry because a judge awarded Brad 50/50 custody and - four months later - Brad finds out from the press that she had sold her part of the business to the Russian!"
Pitt went on to take legal action over the sale, with the 2022 filing reading: "The vineyard became Pitt's passion - and a profitable one, as Miraval, under Pitt's stewardship, has grown into a multimillion-dollar global business and one of the world's most highly regarded producers of rosé wine.
"Jolie, meanwhile, contributed nothing to Miraval's success. Instead, she allowed Pitt to pour money and sweat equity into the business in reliance on the consent right she owed him and a right of first refusal her business entity owed his."
The divorce proceedings continue alongside the battle over the winery, and the divorce could be one of - if not the - longest-running divorces in Hollywood history, with the couple now separated for around seven years.
