WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA — West Hollywood is looking to improve William S. Hart Park, and wants community feedback on proposed changes. The city will hold a virtual presentation on October 29 at 5:30 p.m. to lay out the potential design and take in comments from residents.
City staff and the consulting landscape architect will present three conceptual design plans and 3-D model renderings. Each concept is sensitive to the park's existing topography and landscape, provides active and passive areas for park users of all abilities, takes into consideration of community feedback, and illustrates creative design options to enhance park user experiences.
The improvement process for the park officially began in December 2019, including various pop-up outreach events in the community. Future events were eventually postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, but outreach efforts resumed last month.
The main focus of the renovations is to improve accessibility for all Hollywood residents. Proposed changes included upgrading parking and ramp locations, improving the dog park, and better security features. Upgrades to existing buildings will take place in a separate phase.
Community members are invited to share ideas regarding car and foot access to the park. Residents can send questions to csarkees@weho.org.
