WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA — Two new neon-lit street signs were just installed in West Hollywood, adding even more character to one of the most colorful districts in California. The installations, one reading "Relax ur o" and the other "One Love," resemble iconic road signage and will be on display through June 2022.
Both signs are on display at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Holloway Drive. The exhibits were designed by artist Scott Froschauer, a Chicago native who has lived in Los Angeles since 1994.
"As a reaction to surreal and unprecedented distanced-reality, Froschauer's words of hope, love, and affirmation stand in stark but positive relief, welcoming visitors and residents alike into one of the most inclusive cities in the world," the city wrote in a press release.
Froschauer's "Relax, Ur Ok" signs have appeared all over the country, and even popped up in Laguna Beach in 2018. His work has also been featured in museums such as the Renwick Gallery of The Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
He has an extensive background in street art, public sculptures and printmaking, and has crafted interactive installations at Burning Man.
