Now this is fighting for gay rights!
Bravo has proudly displayed LGBTQ+ representation on its platform with multiple hit reality shows including The Real Housewives, Below Deck, and Watch What Happens Live with gay pioneer Andy Cohen.
Over the weekend, everyone's favorite LGBTQ+ reality stars from Bravo came together in Las Vegas for the highly-anticipated BravoCon.
Out caught up with all of the Bravolebrities on the red carpet and emphasized the vitality and importance of having LGBTQ+ visibility on reality TV.
As the face of Bravo and executive producer of many of its hit shows, Andy Cohen is grateful to use his queer voice to reach mainstream audiences.
"I think representation matters in all forms. When I was growing up, there were just no gay people on TV, so I'm very proud to be the only gay guy in late night," Cohen says.
Multiple LGBTQ+ stars also hit the red carpet and proudly displayed their Pride, including Below Deck Mediterranean star Captain Sandy Yawn.
"It's not about who I sleep with. It's about who I love. It's all about love! Love is love. I don't understand why people have a hard time with that. Why does it have to be about gender? That's something that needs to change. I love being a part of Bravo. They are life changers," Yawn shares.
Another Below Deck star who's broke boundaries with LGBTQ+ representation is Fraser Olender, who's one of the only gay Chief Stews in the yachting world.
"I do feel like I'm representing a lot and that's hard, but I think as long as I stay myself and stay true to the community and I'm positive about everything, then we're moving forward," Olender says.
Over on The Real Housewives of Miami,Julia Lemigova made history as the first housewife to be married to a member of the same-sex. The star is married to tennis legend Martina Navratilova.
Lemigova was introduced to the show through her best friend Adriana de Moura, who performs at Mexico City Pride on the current season of RHOM.
"It was such an honor to sing at the biggest Pride in the world. It was like 200,000 people. The energy was insane. The gay community is so special to me. Julia came into this show because I really felt like we needed that representation. The love is just there," Moura shares.
Last up, The Real Housewives of Orange County has introduced plenty of LGBTQ+ visibility. Terry and Heather Dubrow star on the hit show and proudly display their inclusive family as three of their four kids identify as LGBTQ+.
"To me, it's as natural as having blue eyes. You shouldn't have to explain it. You shouldn't be held accountable for it. It's critical that we live our natural, authentic lives. We want every family to know... be who you are and celebrate it," Terry Dubrow says.
Also, RHOC star Taylor Armstrong came out as bisexual on the latest season of the show and is thankful Bravo has given her a platform to showcase her queerness.
"I did have a girlfriend for a long time and it was a beautiful relationship. For me, why eliminate 50 percent of the population? I love everyone! It doesn't matter to me. Let's just find some love," Armstrong concludes.
