Céline Dion is being embraced with love and support after opening up about her unexpected health diagnosis.

On December 8, the 54-year-old singer announced that she won’t be returning to the big stage as planned. In an emotional five-minute clip posted to social media, Céline revealed that although she had hoped to kick off the European leg of her “Courage World Tour” this upcoming February, she was recently diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder called stiff-person syndrome (also known as "stiff-man syndrome"). The condition can cause painful muscle spasms and involuntary stiffness.

In response, the “My Heart Will Go On” artist has pushed back the tour to March and canceled the summer portion. The news comes after she rescheduled her shows several times (ultimately canceling the remainder of the North America leg) and postponing her new Las Vegas residency citing “unforeseen medical symptoms.” Now, Céline has uncovered what’s happening to her and she’s sharing what it’s been like trying to return to singing.

“We now know this is what's been causing all of the spasms that I've been having,” she said in a video. “Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I'm used to. It hurts me to tell you today that this means I won't be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February.”

The mother of three detailed that her road to recovery has involved working with a team of doctors and having the support of her family. “I always give 100% when I do my shows, but my condition is not allowing me to give you that right now,” she continued. “For me to reach you again I have no choice but to concentrate on my health at this moment. And I have hope that I'm on the road to recovery. This is my focus. And I'm doing everything that I can to recuperate.”

“I want to thank you so much for your encouraging wishes of love and support on my social media. This means a lot to me. Take care of yourselves. Be well. I love you guys so much. And I really hope I can see you again real soon," Céline concluded.

Reacting to her candid message, many celebrities immediately reached out to her in the comments section with heartfelt words.

“We love you more Celine! May you feel all the cumulative healing love being sent to you today and everyday as you do your hard work. If anyone deserves a miracle it’s you‼️ ❤️,” wrote Christie Brinkley. “Celine, I am thinking of you and sending you all my love. You are talent personified and, as you get better, your power and presence will be felt everywhere again. Wishing you the speediest recovery 😘♥️,” added Donatella Versace. “We love [you] Celine,” commented The Voice coach Gwen Stefani.

Fans also showed up for Céline and assured her that they were behind her every step of the way. “We love you Celine! Take care of yourself! We will always be here to support you, listen to you and your songs! Sending love and positive thoughts ❤️❤️❤️❤️,” one person wrote. “Stay strong angel, we are all with you ❤️,” another added. “We miss you Celine ❤️ I know you will be back on stage with more power and love ❤️🌹,” a different fan said.
