City Of West Hollywood And West Hollywood Chamber Of Commerce To Host A West Hollywood City Council Candidate Forum On Tuesday, October 6 From 5 P.m. To 7 P.m.
As part of the City of West Hollywood's continuous efforts to increase voter participation, the City and the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will host a West Hollywood City Council Candidate Forum on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in a virtual teleconference format. Community members may view the forum live, on-demand, or via replay on WeHoTV by visiting the City's website at www.weho.org/wehotv as well as on Spectrum Cable TV Channel 10 within the boundaries of the City of West Hollywood. The City Council Candidate Forum will be additionally available on multiple streaming platforms, including the City's YouTube channel (for live stream and replay) and on streaming services such as AndroidTV, AppleTV, FireTV, and Roku. Streaming platform viewers can easily find programming by searching for "WeHoTV" within the search functions of these services.
There will be two City Council seats to be filled for four-year terms in the November 3, 2020 General Municipal Election. Each qualified candidate for a seat on the City of West Hollywood City Council was invited to participate.
The candidate questions will be coordinated by the independent and non-partisan organization League of Women Voters of Los Angeles and the forum will feature an independent and impartial moderator, NBC4 Anchor and Reporter, Robert Kovacik.
Community members wishing to submit questions may do so by typing a question into the "chat" option available on the Zoom platform. A representative from the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles will sort these questions to eliminate any redundancy and will ask questions directly to the candidates. Community members will be able to access the City Council Candidate Forum virtually by registering through the following Zoom platform link: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_xpEDdpc7Seaq5ojeyFu46w.
During the Forum, candidates and the moderator will be visible on the screen, along with representatives from the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles who will use paddles to keep the candidate and moderator aware of time, but these will not be seen on screen.
