Keisha Nash Whitaker, an actor and producer who was married to actor Forest Whitaker for more than 20 years, has died. She was 51.
Her 25-year-old daughter, True Whitaker, shared the news in her Instagram Story on Wednesday. She posted photos of her mother when she was younger and included the message, "Goodbye mommy. I love you 4ever and beyond."
"The most beautiful woman in the world... thank you for teaching me every single thing I know," she continued. "I'll see you in my dreams and I'll feel you in my heart."
USA TODAY has confirmed that Forest Whitaker's verified account follows True's Instagram account and also reached out to Forest Whitaker's rep for comment.

Keisha is credited on her IMDB page with a role in the 2004 film "Proud."
Forest Whitaker and Keisha Nash Whitaker had two children together, True and Sonnet Whitaker, who is 27. Keisha had another daughter, Autumn, from a prior marriage.
The Emmy- and Academy Award-winning actor, who is also the founder and CEO of the Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative, filed to divorce Keisha in 2018, citing irreconcilable differences.
The two met on the set of the 1994 film "Blown Away" and were married for 22 years.
