When Greg was in his 30s and teaching at a school that had a strong program for students who are hard of hearing, he went to visit his mom one weekend, he said on The Graham Norton Show in 2016. While Greg stayed with her, his mom offered to do laundry for him.
As he was using the bathroom at school the next day, he realized some laundry confusion had taken place without him realizing it.
"I went to the toilet, and I pulled my trousers down, and some of my mother's knickers had got mixed up in the wash ... and I was wearing my mother's underwear," Greg said. "I remember going, 'Oh, you loser! This is just such a low point.'"
To make things worse, Greg had been very drunk and ate curry the night before this, which ended up hitting him while he was in the bathroom.
“I did, like, a fecal Jackson Pollock,” Greg said as fellow guest Ryan Gosling burst into laughter. When he finished in the bathroom and went back to the classroom, a student who was hard of hearing gave Greg a strange look. At this point, the story took a more mortifying turn for the comedian.
"That's when I remembered that I had a microphone directly connected to his hearing aid," he said.
