Another Halloween has come and gone, and while this year’s celebrations might've looked a little different without the usual trick-or-treating or huge parties, there were still plenty of ways to get festive. And some of the biggest stars pulled out all of the stops during Spooky Szn this year.
While several celebs opted for iconic characters or pop culture references, like Chrissy Teigen’s Black Swan nod, other stars paid tribute to each other. Ciara went full Cardi B (with her son donning an Offset costume), while Lil Nas X channeled his inner Nicki Minaj. And one of the most memorable takeaways from Halloween 2020? Saweetie used the holiday to recreate the Bootylicious album cover from Destiny’s Child.
For all of the star-studded costumes, check out our roundup below — and feel free to take any ghostly inspiration that may come your way.
Ryan Destiny
Ryan’s Halloween costume was a perfect copy/paste of Lauryn Hill’s 1999 Honey Magazine cover. Amazing!
Tabria Majors
Model Tabria Majors pulled out all the stops this year and recreated nearly every iconic Beyoncé moment in history with a 10-minute long music video aptly titled ##BEYLLOWEEN. The project soon garnered millions of views and countless compliments. “I wanted to do something different this year for Halloween and pay tribute to someone that I admire and respect so much—BEYONCÉ,” Tabria wrote in the caption. Pretty sure she just won Halloween!
Cardi B & Kulture
Cardi turned Halloween into her own personal photo shoot, morphing into absolute mythical royalty as Medusa. Her daughter Kulture also got in on the festivities, donning a glammed up Wonder Woman costume.
Gigi Hadid & Zayn Malik
Gigi showed off her love of gaming with her futuristic blue catsuit and the perfect caption “Choose your player.” In a post on her IG story, she shared her first public family photo with Zayn and their new baby; the singer-songwriter was dressed up in full Slytherin gear, while baby Zigi sported a Hulk costume. Too cute!
Bella Hadid
The model got extra creative this year and decked herself out as a Roy Lichtenstein painting, writing in her caption: “POV: your new Lichtenstein piece came in and she...uh...came to life last nite..... she won’t stop seducing you thru the security camera until you let her in through the front gate.”
Lizzo
Some memes are just begging for a Halloween costume. Lizzo reminded fans to vote and gave them a laugh while dressing up as the fly on Mike Pence’s head from the Vice Presidential debate.
Ciara
After stunning as Cardi B earlier during Halloweekend, Ciara also paid tribute to Megan Thee Stallion and later, Nicki Minaj.
Gabrielle Union & Dwyane Wade
Gabrielle and Dwyane took the family costume to the next level with their daughter Kaavia James by dressing up as every ingredient you need to make s’mores. Endlessly adorable!
Kevin & Danielle Jonas
Did someone say family Halloween? This Jonas crew went as Minions, with the exception of one of their daughters who seemed to prefer a pastel pixie outfit (TBH we get it).
Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, & Madelaine Petsch
Speaking of group costumes, the Riverdale ladies went full Powerpuff Girls for Halloween this year, and they did not disappoint!
Naomi Osaka
The star tennis player showed her love of Codename: Kids Next Door by dressing up as Abigail Lincoln AKA Numbuh 5. Perfection!
Demi Lovato
Taking spooky season to heart, Demi went full vampira — and was her own MUA for the occasion!
Cole Sprouse
Paying tribute to all of our childhoods, the Riverdale actor went as The Man in the Yellow Hat — with Curious George by his side, of course.
The Weeknd
The Weeknd dialed it back to the ‘90s with an homage to Eddie Murphy’s character in The Nutty Professor.
Kylie Jenner
The reality star kicked off Halloweekend with a group costume fit for the ‘gram: The Power Rangers, before recreating one of her childhood costumes alongside sis Kendall. Never one to pass up an opportunity to dress up all weekend long, Kylie showed off an elaborate King Cobra costume on Halloween night.
Stormi Webster
Of course Kylie’s mini-me seems to love Halloween as much as she does! The toddler sported a purple Minion costume, looking as adorable as ever.
Kris Jenner
The matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner fam is also all about that Halloween life. Case in point? Her absolutely iconic Jack Skellington costume.
Kendall Jenner
In addition to posing with Kylie, the model dressed up as Pamela Anderson à la Barb Wire, with an important message about voting.
Saweetie
“I don’t think you’re ready for this jelly,” Saweetie captioned her perfect homage to Beyoncé. And if that wasn’t enough, she also offered her spin on the “Bootlyicious” music video, much to fans’ delight.
Rico Nasty
Rico Nasty went full-on Joker to ask fans, “Why so serious?”
Ciara
Not only did Ciara channel Cardi B for her costume, she also fully recreated the rapper’s Invasion of Privacy album cover. And if you swipe through the slides, you’ll also find a nail art surprise in order to remind fans to vote.
Marsai Martin
For her Halloween costume, Marsai paid homage to the one and only Rihanna — and even made her very own Vogue cover to go along with it. Award-winning!
Lil Nas X
Introducing….Nas Maraj. We are speechless!
Chrissy Teigen & John Legend
Ever wondered what would happen if the Swan Queen ended up with Spider-Man? We think they make a pretty sweet couple, TBQH.
Halsey
Halsey pulled out all the stops with her Corpse Bride costume, and made the perfect Emily.
Bella Thorne
As the actor wrote on her IG, Grandma probably wouldn’t approve of this Little Red costume.
Mindy Kaling
Mindy traded spooky for adorable this Halloween, dressing up as Devi from her Netflix series, Never Have I Ever. “What’s a’poppin?!” she quipped in the caption. “Do you like my Halloween costume?”
Rosalía
Singer-songwriter Rosalía went with an iconic ‘90s costume and channeled her inner Leeloo, from The Fifth Element. Nailed it!
Bebe Rexha
Continuing with the classic theme, Bebe dressed up as Poison Ivy — with the perfect red hairstyle and all. Happy Halloween indeed!
