Dancing with the Stars has been on the air for 29 seasons and has had hundreds of celebrity contestants try their best to win the season and the coveted Mirror Ball trophy. Some of the contestants were rightfully eliminated early on, but others were quite talented but eliminated anyway.
Some of the celebrity contestants have almost made it to the end but couldn't make the final or win the title and some had injuries or health or personal issues throughout the contest which hindered their once strong dancing. Here are some of the best celebrities who competed on the show and should be brought back if Dancing with the Stars does an all-star competition of past contestants who didn't win.
10 Lindsey Stirling
Violinist and musician Lindsey Stirling was impressive from the beginning of the show and was always interesting and engaging to watch week after week.
She competed on Season 25 of the show and was tied with Hamilton and movie star Jordan Fisher for most of the season. They were the top two, but Fisher narrowly won and left Stirling in second.
9 Sabrina Bryan
Sabrina Bryan of Disney's The Cheetah Girls competed on Season 5 of the series and immediately got the highest scores of the night. She was a frontrunner as she continually received high scores from the judges and was a favorite to win the competition.
Shockingly, after receiving somewhat low scores, she was eliminated in the sixth week of the competition, which surprised and upset viewers and the judges alike. Bryan certainly deserves a second chance at competing.
8 Ralph Macchio
Ralph Macchio is still best known for his 1980s roles in The Karate Kid and The Outsiders and more recently starring in Cobra Kai. He competed in Season 12 and was a surprising frontrunner at the beginning.
Macchio suffered a knee injury during the latter half of the show, ironically similar to his character's injury in The Karate Kid, and had to struggle through a few dances until it fully healed. If not for the injury, he might have received a higher ranking in the show, but impressively he still came in fourth but should be invited back for a second chance.
7 Jeannie Mai
Jeannie Mai is best known for her work in reality television in the makeover show How Do I Look? and as a television host like on The Real. She competed on the most recent series, Season 29, and brought a fun and energetic vibe to the show while she was on.
She was doing well on the show until she had to leave the competition due to health concerns after having to undergo surgery. She was always entertaining and full of energy that she should get a second chance to come back and compete.
6 Candace Cameron-Bure
Candace Cameron-Bure is best known for her role as D.J. on Full House and started out with great scores and consistently remained at the top for most of Season 18.
She was able to earn a spot in the final and seriously compete for the trophy. She had great scores in the finale, but it wasn't enough to win the season and she came in third place.
5 Frankie Muniz
Frankie Muniz is best known for his starring role as Malcolm in Malcolm in the Middle and began the competition a little awkwardly before really hitting a stride.
He grew throughout the series, truly working at his dancing skills and taking the judge's comments to heart, and became a contender by the latter half of the season. He earned a spot in the finals and seriously competed for the win, but ended up coming in third behind Lindsey Stirling and Jordan Fisher.
4 Mario Lopez
Professional host and actor Mario Lopez competed very early on in the series in Season 3 of the show. Lopez was a strong and consistent dancer throughout the competition and was paired with then romantic partner Karina Smirnoff.
Lopez was able to earn a spot in the finals and although he had perfect scores on his final dances for the judges he still came in second place narrowly losing to former NFL player Emmitt Smith.
3 Zendaya Coleman
Former Disney Channel star and current movie actor Zendaya competed on Season 16 of Dancing with the Stars at age 16. She was a consistently strong dancer always getting top scores for her performances and had several perfect score dances.
She easily earned a spot in the finals and although had a very strong performance amongst the finalists she came in second place behind Kellie Pickler.
2 Corbin Bleu
Actor and musician Corbin Bleu, best known for his starring role in High School Musical, competed in Season 17 of the show.
Bleu was a strong dancer from the beginning and since he had a dancing background he might have been judged a little more harshly by the fans and the judges alike, but he always performed well and received high scores. He came in second place behind Glee star Amber Riley.
1 James Van Der Beek
The former Dawson's Creek star James Van Der Beek competed in the dancing competition on Season 28 of the series.
Van Der Beek was a little shaky at the beginning of the show but quickly got the hang of dancing and performing and had strong scores throughout most of the competition. Van Der Beek received tragic news right before he was eliminated and came in fifth place overall in the competition.
